RUMOURED INCREASE IN SCHOOL FEES
The management of the university at its meeting of Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 with the leadership of students in Adekunle Ajasin university, Akungba Akoko (AAUA) received and considered the report of the RUMOURED increase in school fees for 2018/19 Academic session.
The management noted among other issues the request by the leadership of the students that the fees paid last session should not be implemented during the 2018/19 Academic session because of the hardship being faced by some students. The management empathized with the students but could not revisit the decision taken on school fees last year (2017/18) session.
I therefore write to inform you that after a thoughtful deliberation, the management decided to make the following concessions for students of AAUA in order to reduce the hardship.
1. Scrap the payment of Faculty and Departmental dues.
2. Financial requests from faculties and departments should be forwarded to the Vice Chancellor by the respective Deans.
3. Reduce Association dues across all faculties to #1000 only per student.
4. The payment of field trip money by students in departments of Earth sciences, Geography and planting sciences and Animal and Environmental Biology, etc is reduced by 50% and the heads of department should henceforth provide detailed information on what the money paid by students would be used for.
The Bursar, All Deans and Heads of Departments are please requested to note the above concessions and implement them with effect from the 2018/19 Academic session while the students leadership is expected to pass the information to all students.
